وأبيضand a fair-skinned one شعرهhis hair طويلlong
وأبيض شعره طويل
والخدّand the cheek قدindeed زانهadorned it العِذارthe down along the cheek
والخدّ قد زانه العِذار
And a fair-skinned one whose hair is long,
His hair white and long
And down has indeed adorned his cheek,
And his cheek adorned by elegance
كالشمسِlike the sun طابتbecame lovely ربيعspring وقتtime
كالشمسِ طابت ربيع وقت
واعْتدلand became equal الليلthe night والنهارand the day
واعْتدل الليل والنهار
Like the sun, lovely in springtime,
Like the spring's sun shone beautifully
And night and day have become equal.
As day and night balanced each other
