Alas for one who has become
Oh woe to him who has become in need
in need of some form of alms!
Of a type of charity
يثقلis burdensome منهfrom him عندin the eyes of منthe one whom
يثقل منه عند من
يرجوهhe hopes for help from him حتَّىeven الورَقَاpaper
يرجوه حتَّى الورَقَا
What comes from him burdens the one
That weighs heavy on him with those
whose help he hopes for—even paper.
