  1. هام بالركن هائم

    عدَّلوا فرط حزنه

    A lovesick wanderer fell in love with al-Rukn.

    They tempered his excessive sorrow.

  2. فعصى كلّ عاذلٍ

    وتولَّى بركنه

    So he defied every reproacher,

    And turned away with his pillar.
