Or is this my destined appointed fortune

My war with the bending of a slender waist has pained me
who cast the heart into painful torment.
And cast the heart into excruciating torment

Do not blame a lover who wept when a garden was gone,
Do not blame a lover who cried after a cheek

Like the weeping of an infant after a breeze

With a temple-lock and a mole's musk close beside it,
A cheek with a mole approached it pure musk
we took it for a dot beneath a jīm.
