endowed with lofty honors and great benefactions.
قدindeed ساقكhas led you اللهGod إلىto جلّقJilliq
قد ساقك الله إلى جلّق
لماwhen درىHe knew حاجتهاits need للغمامfor rainclouds
لما درى حاجتها للغمام
God has brought you to Jillaq,
God has led you to Jilliq
knowing how greatly she needed the rainclouds.
when He knew its need for rainclouds.
ياO منyou who تسقىwater غواديmorning clouds الحياrain
يا من تسقى غوادي الحيا
ويدرأand wards off البأسadversity ويشفىand cures السقامsickness
ويدرأ البأس ويشفى السقام
O you who give even the life-giving morning clouds to drink,
O you who water the morning rainclouds,
who ward off adversity and heal disease,
ward off adversity and cure sickness.
لاdo not تلمblame الدهرTime علىfor نقلةٍa move
لا تلم الدهر على نقلةٍ
فقدfor indeed تنقَّلتyou have moved لأشهىto the most delightful مقامabode
فقد تنقَّلت لأشهى مقام
do not blame fate for a change of abode:
Do not blame Time for a move,
you have moved to the most delightful dwelling.
for you have moved to the most delightful abode.
وحيثماand wherever يمّمتyou turn toward منof منزلٍa dwelling
وحيثما يمّمت من منزلٍ
فإنهthen truly it is الدنياthe world وأنتand you الأنامall mankind
فإنه الدنيا وأنت الأنام
Wherever you make for a home,
And whichever dwelling you turn toward,
that place is the whole world, and you are all humankind.
