We congratulate you—rather, we congratulate the offices

on your sun, whose justice dispels every darkness.

Some people lamented its sorrow, while your excellence recites:

"When the sun of day rises, submit."

It is none other than a Qurayshi countenance,

whose tidings will strengthen every Muslim.

And I swear: were you not restraining a people

who hold the sufferer's plight of little account,

my palm would not have received half a dirham from them.

Indeed, my heart received from them half of 'dirham'—hamm, sorrow.
