With the stirrings of good fortune, security, and joy,

With your blessings of security and tranquility

You settled in the abode of learning, forbearance, and hospitality.

You have settled in the abode of knowledge, dreams, and villages

وعمَّرتها يا عمرك الله للعلى

وعمَّرتها يا عمرك الله للعلى

فعشْ مثلها عالي المنار معمّرا

فعشْ مثلها عالي المنار معمّرا

And you made it flourish for lofty glory—may God prolong your life!

May your life last long in service of the Most High

So live, like it, with your beacon high and your life long.

So you may live like a high minaret, long-standing

تبادرها الطلاّب علماً وأنعماً

تبادرها الطلاّب علماً وأنعماً

فتحمد عند الصبح من بشرك السرى

فتحمد عند الصبح من بشرك السرى

Seekers hasten to it for knowledge and favors,

Students flock to it seeking knowledge and bounty

So at dawn, thanks to your cheerful welcome, the night journey is praised.

So you are praised at dawn for your joyful tidings

وتزداد بالتَّرخيم حيناً خلاف ما

وتزداد بالتَّرخيم حيناً خلاف ما

يقاس وترضي الوفد ورداً ومصدرا

يقاس وترضي الوفد ورداً ومصدرا

And marble cladding enhances it, at times contrary to what

And grow happier still with chanting though not

Analogy dictates, and it pleases the delegation on arrival and departure.

Measured, pleasing delegations with gifts and sources

وتذكرك الجنَّات بالنسك والتقى

وتذكرك الجنَّات بالنسك والتقى

بشيران بالإحسان والعدل في الورى

بشيران بالإحسان والعدل في الورى

And the gardens speak of you for devotion and piety,

The gardens remind you of devotion and piety

In Shiran, for beneficence and justice among humankind.

Harbingers of benevolence and justice in the world

لقد زادها في الحمد يوسف فاغْتدت

لقد زادها في الحمد يوسف فاغْتدت

تباع بمرآها القلوب وتشترى

تباع بمرآها القلوب وتشترى

Yusuf has indeed added to its praise, so that now

Indeed, Yusuf has increased its praise so it exults

Hearts are sold and bought at the sight of it.

Selling hearts its mirror and buying them

وما هي إلاَّ جنَّةٌ بدليلِ ما

وما هي إلاَّ جنَّةٌ بدليلِ ما

وصفت وقلبي عاشق قبل أن يرى

وصفت وقلبي عاشق قبل أن يرى

And it is nothing but a paradise, as shown by what

It is but a garden, as evidenced by what
