أمولانا الوزير دعاء عبدٍ
تبدَّلhe has changed فيin بلادكُمyour lands فصنْهُso protect him
تبدَّل في بلادكُم فصنْهُ
O our lord the vizier, a servant’s plea:
Our Minister, Duaa Abd
He has changed in your lands, so protect him.
May change come to your lands, so welcome it
ولاand do not تعطيgive العطاthe gift إلاَّexcept هنيئاًpleasant to enjoy
ولا تعطي العطا إلاَّ هنيئاً
إذاif كانَis العطاthe gift لاno بدَّescape منهُfrom it
إذا كانَ العطا لا بدَّ منهُ
And give no gift unless it brings pleasure,
And only give gifts that bring joy
if the gift is unavoidable.
