إذا البلغاء نحَوْا غايةً
فهمthen they بضيائكَby your radiance يسترشدونseek guidance
فهم بضيائكَ يسترشدون
When the eloquent aim for a goal,
When eloquent men seek the ultimate goal
Then by your radiance they seek guidance.
By your radiance, they find their way
فأحسنthen how fine بهمthey are فيin دياجيthe deep darkness of السطورthe lines
فأحسن بهم في دياجي السطور
قياماًstanding upright وبالنجمand by the star همthey يهتدونfind their way
قياماً وبالنجم هم يهتدون
How fine they are amid the darkness of the lines,
So treat them kindly in the garment of words
Standing upright—and by the star they find their way.
