إن أساءَ الحبيبُ قامت بعذرٍ
وجنةٌa cheek منهof his فوقabove شاماتbeauty marks
وجنةٌ منه فوق شامات
If the beloved does wrong, there rises in his defense
If my beloved does wrong, I make excuses for him,
a cheek of his above beauty marks.
And regard any kindness from him as a gift from heaven.
ياoh لهاfor them وجناتٌcheeks أقابلI encounter منهاfrom them
يا لها وجناتٌ أقابل منها
حسناتٍbeauties; good deeds تمحىare erased بهاby them السيآتthe misdeeds
حسناتٍ تمحى بها السيآت
Ah, those cheeks! In them I find
Oh, his gardens where I find only good deeds,
beauties by which misdeeds are erased.
That cancel out any mistakes he's made.
