فهلthen is there? يدٌa hand بينناbetween us للوصلِfor union بيضاءُwhite (beneficent)
O garden of beauty, indeed the soul is green.
O garden of beauty, my soul is verdant,
Is there, then, a white hand between us to bring union?
Is there a white hand between us for union?

By Ṣād I swear: the eye, if it loves
I swear by the letter Saad, if my eyes loved
anyone but you, has no Nūn, no Ẓāʾ, no Rāʾ.
Other than you, they would be Noon, Thaa, and Raa.

And indeed my verse, when I compose it in love poetry
And if I compose poetry in lyrical verse
and praise of our sultan, is the garden's embroiderer.
And praise of our Sultan, it is for the garden's delight.

Our sultan, Hasan, is fair in all his qualities;
Our Sultan has the best of attributes combined,
through them, sons tell of true kingship.
Through him descendants of the true King are sustained.

O you, for whom the horizons proclaim deeds
O you for whom horizons speak of great
sublime, and the earth speaks, though it is mute.
Deeds, though the land itself is mute.

لقدindeed تشرَّفwas honored بنيانٌa building وبناءُand a builder
Your servant's honoring—his verse of praise cried out:
Your servant's ennoblement proclaimed the praise of his poem,
"Indeed, both building and builder have been honored."
Indeed the edifice and building were ennobled.

As for the enemies, their humors furnish them robes—
As for the enemies, their mixed fabric brings disgrace
black in the breast, or yellow in the head.
Black on the chest or yellow on the head.
