رَبّO Lord إنَّindeed ابنَson of عامرٍ‘Amir هائمُlost in thought الفfirst fragment of الفكر, ‘thought’
رَبّ إنَّ ابنَ عامرٍ هائمُ الف
كرِremaining fragment of الفكر, ‘thought’ معنًىtormented فيin صبحهِhis morning والمساءand the evening
كرِ معنًى في صبحهِ والمساء
O Lord, indeed Ibn ‘Amir is lost in thought,
My Lord, Aamer's son is obsessed
tormented morning and evening.
With meaning, in the morn and evening dew
يتمنىhe longs for القضاthe judgeship فلاso do not تعطينهُgrant it to him
يتمنى القضا فلا تعطينهُ
واجعلِand make الموتَdeath سابقاًprior للقضاءto the judgeship
واجعلِ الموتَ سابقاً للقضاء
He longs for the judgeship, so do not grant it to him,
He prays for destiny, grant him not his wish
and make death precede the judgeship.
And let death come before its rendezvous
