لوif كانَwere غيركsomeone other than you مخدوماًa patron ألوذI seek refuge بهwith him
لو كانَ غيرك مخدوماً ألوذ به
لكانَthen would be حاليmy condition علىin accordance with ماwhat أشتهيI desire حاليmy condition
لكانَ حالي على ما أشتهي حالي
Had someone other than you been the patron I turned to for refuge,
Had it been another who was served, I'd take refuge in him,
My condition would have been just as I wished it to be;
My state would be as I desire my state,
ولاand not هجيتyou were lampooned فلاand so not أمسيتI ended up مفتقراًdestitute
ولا هجيت فلا أمسيت مفتقراً
وباركَand blessed اللهGod فيin عرضِيmy honor وفيand in ماليmy wealth
وباركَ الله في عرضِي وفي مالي
You would not have been lampooned, and I would not have ended up destitute,
And I'd not become destitute morning and night,
And God would have blessed my honor and my wealth.
May God bless my honor and wealth.
