أوائل أسماءِ الّذين اِرتجيتهم
يفرّجُis relieved عنّيfrom me فيهمthrough them المتشدّدُsevere distress
يفرّجُ عنّي فيهم المتشدّدُ
The initials of the names of those on whom I pinned my hopes—
The first letters of the names of those I hoped for
through whom severe distress is lifted from me—
Would relieve my distress among them the strict one
ثلاثةthree حاءاتٍḥāʾ letters وأربعand four أعينٍʿayn letters
ثلاثة حاءاتٍ وأربع أعينٍ
وأربعand four ميماتٍmīm letters وجيمٌand a jīm موحّدُsingle
وأربع ميماتٍ وجيمٌ موحّدُ
are three ḥāʾs and four ʿayns,
Three H's and four eyes
and four mīms and a single jīm.
And four M's and one unified J
