O blessing of glory, O ravening lion of battle,
O blessing of glory, O fierce lion
And you who are our shield amid the hardships of separation,
Who can protect us from the grinding calamity

I swear by your reddened spears and the saffron-hued sword:
I swear by your bronze complexion and sharp swords
But for you, we would have become captives in the Persians' hands,
Without you, we would be captives at the hands of the Persians

Yet, O you who teach every scholar a lesson,
But you, who teaches every scholar a lesson

God has indeed favored us, in your person, with one generous yet fierce.
God has endowed us with your fierce generosity
Thus you rescued us after we had fallen and the struggle grew fierce.
So you saved us after we were crushed and milled

May you ever be guarded by the People of the Cloak, O our full moon,
You still watch over the noble people, our full moon
So long as the sun of noble deeds appears upon the page of day.
The sun of glory has not shone on a day like this
