النوم بعدك على عينيَّ رد نقاه
والصبرand patience عنfrom مهجتيmy soul سافرjourneyed away وعزand became difficult لقاهmeeting it
والصبر عن مهجتي سافر وعز لقاه
Since you left, sleep has turned its back on my eyes.
And patience has journeyed from my soul, and is hard to find.
لاdo not تحسبthink الصبّthe lovelorn one بعدكsince you left حبhas desired طولlength of بقاهhis remaining alive
لا تحسب الصبّ بعدك حب طول بقاه
لكنbut موتthe death of الشقيthe wretched one يبطىis slow to come لطولto prolong شقاهhis misery
لكن موت الشقي يبطى لطول شقاه
Do not think the lovelorn one, since you left, has wanted to live long.
But the wretched one's death delays, prolonging his misery.
