فقت السلف يا حسين وأنت أتيت أخير

فقت السلف يا حسين وأنت أتيت أخير

واِتقدموك وأنت أجلُّهم وأخير

واِتقدموك وأنت أجلُّهم وأخير

You surpassed those before you, O Husayn, though you came last.

They preceded you, yet you are the greatest and best of them.

وليعلم الحاسدين كبيرهم وصغير

وليعلم الحاسدين كبيرهم وصغير

ما دمت سالم وفيك اللَه متكل

ما دمت سالم وفيك اللَه متكل

And let the envious, great and small, know:

So long as you are safe—and in you, by God, I trust—

فكيف ما شاءَ غوّار الزمان يغير

فكيف ما شاءَ غوّار الزمان يغير

Then let marauding Time raid however it wishes.
