حَيدَرِيٌّ عَمَّ نَائِلُهُ
ذُوpossessor of المَعَالِيlofty honors البَاهِرَاتِdazzling عَلِيAli
ذُو المَعَالِي البَاهِرَاتِ عَلِي
Of Haydar's line, his bounty reaches all;
Ali, possessor of dazzling honors.
فَلَكِيَّاتٌcelestial مَرَاتِبهُhis ranks
فَلَكِيَّاتٌ مَرَاتِبهُ
نَيّرٌa luminary يَسمُوrises high عَلَىabove زُحَلِSaturn
نَيّرٌ يَسمُو عَلَى زُحَلِ
His ranks are celestial;
A luminary rising above Saturn.
قَبَسٌa flame تَهمِيpour forth أَنَامِلُهُhis fingertips
قَبَسٌ تَهمِي أَنَامِلُهُ
مَورِدٌa watering place أَشهَىmore delectable مِنَthan العَسَلِhoney
مَورِدٌ أَشهَى مِنَ العَسَلِ
A flame whose fingertips pour forth;
A watering place more delectable than honey.
أُفُقٌa horizon تَبدُوappear كَوَاكِبُهُhis stars
أُفُقٌ تَبدُو كَوَاكِبُهُ
صُبحdawn of لَيلِthe night of الحادِثِthe calamity الجَلَلِgrave
صُبح لَيلِ الحادِثِ الجَلَلِ
A horizon whose stars appear;
The dawn of grave calamity's night.
صَاعِدٌrising high تُخشَىare feared نَوَازِلُهُhis descending blows
صَاعِدٌ تُخشَى نَوَازِلُهُ
ضَارِبُstriker of الهَامَاتِheads والقُلَلِand summits
ضَارِبُ الهَامَاتِ والقُلَلِ
One rising high, whose descending blows are feared;
A striker of heads and summits.
عِندَat بَيتِthe house of المَالِmoney صَاحِبُهُits master
عِندَ بَيتِ المَالِ صَاحِبُهُ
زِينَةُthe ornament of الأَجيَادِnecks والدُّوَلِand realms
زِينَةُ الأَجيَادِ والدُّوَلِ
At the treasury, he is its master;
The ornament of necks and realms.
كَفُّthe hand of يُمنِgood fortune الدَّهرِtime كَاهِلُهُhis shoulder
كَفُّ يُمنِ الدَّهرِ كَاهِلُهُ
أَجلٌdeath فيin صُورَةِthe form of الرَّجُلِa man
أَجلٌ في صُورَةِ الرَّجُلِ
His shoulder is the hand of Time's good fortune;
Death in the form of a man.
مَنهَلٌa spring طَابَتbecame sweet مَشَارِبُهُhis drinking waters
مَنهَلٌ طَابَت مَشَارِبُهُ
مَنبَعُsource of الآلاءِblessings والخَوَلِand riches
مَنبَعُ الآلاءِ والخَوَلِ
A spring whose waters are sweet;
A source of blessings and riches.
عَلقَمِيٌّcolocynth-bitter مُجَّwas spat out عَاسِلُهُhis honey-gatherer
عَلقَمِيٌّ مُجَّ عَاسِلُهُ
مَورِدِa watering place العَسَّالَةِswaying spears الذُّبُلِslender
مَورِدِ العَسَّالَةِ الذُّبُلِ
Bitter as colocynth, his honey-gatherer is spat out;
A watering place for swaying, slender spears.
نَبَوِيَّاتٌprophetic مَنَاقِبُهُhis virtues
نَبَوِيَّاتٌ مَنَاقِبُهُ
نَجلُdescendant of خَيرِthe best of الخَلقِcreation والرُّسُلِand messengers
نَجلُ خَيرِ الخَلقِ والرُّسُلِ
His virtues are prophetic;
A descendant of the best of creation and messengers.
فَاضِلٌvirtuous عَمَّتencompassed all فَوَاضِلُهُhis bounties
فَاضِلٌ عَمَّت فَوَاضِلُهُ
عَلَوِيٌّof Ali's line طَاهِرُpure in الخُلَلِcharacter traits
عَلَوِيٌّ طَاهِرُ الخُلَلِ
A virtuous man whose bounties embrace all;
Of Ali's line, pure in character.
قَدَرٌfate دَارَتrevolved نَوَائِبُهُhis calamities
قَدَرٌ دَارَت نَوَائِبُهُ
كَهفُa refuge of أَمنِsafety for الخَائِفِthe frightened الوَجِلِthe trembling
كَهفُ أَمنِ الخَائِفِ الوَجِلِ
Fate, whose calamities revolve;
A safe refuge for the frightened, trembling one.
