فارقني النوم منذ بليت في فرقاك

والقلبُ مثلك جفاني واهتوى فقاك

Sleep has forsaken me since I was afflicted with separation from you.

Sleep has left me since we parted

And my heart, like you, has shunned me and become enamored of your nape.

And my heart is like you, it abandoned me and longed for you

والروح إن رمتها منّي وعزَّ لقاك

والروح إن رمتها منّي وعزَّ لقاك

خذها عسى اللَه يخلفها بطول لقاك

خذها عسى اللَه يخلفها بطول لقاك

And my soul—if you seek it from me, though meeting you is hard to attain—

If my soul leaves me and yearns for you

Take it; may God replace it with a prolonged reunion with you.

Take it, perhaps God will replace it with a long meeting with you
