How long, O soul, before you sober from passion’s intoxication
Awaken, O soul, from the intoxication of passion
and erase the black marks of sins through your repentance?
And with repentance erase the drafts of sins

كم تغفلين وفي أسرك طلاب الحين
ماwhat تعملينyou do إذاwhen فاجاكِtakes you by surprise هذاthis الحينdeath

How long will you remain heedless while death’s hunters seek to capture you?
How much do you neglect, while seekers of life are in your shackles
What will you do when this death takes you by surprise?
