شَمالٌ تَهادى بَينَنا وَجَنوبُ
The slightest breeze alights upon her—would that it were
The softest wind makes it tremble, I wish it
A north wind wafting between us, and a south wind.
Were a north that gently blows between us, and a south
تَهُبُّit blows بِناwith us طَوراًat times جَنوباًas a south wind فَنَلتَقيso we meet
تَهُبُّ بِنا طَوراً جَنوباً فَنَلتَقي
وَتَجريand it courses شَمالاًas a north wind تارَةًsometimes فَتَثوبُthen it returns
وَتَجري شَمالاً تارَةً فَتَثوبُ
At times it bears us along as a south wind, so we meet;
That blows us together for a while, south, so we meet
And sometimes courses as a north wind, then returns.
And runs north at times, so it rages
