ياO جامِعاًone who combines بِمَساويهِthrough his vices وَطَلعَتِهِand his visage
يا جامِعاً بِمَساويهِ وَطَلعَتِهِ
بَينَbetween السَوادَينِthe two blacknesses مِنof ظُلمٍinjustice وَمِنand of ظُلَمِdarkness
بَينَ السَوادَينِ مِن ظُلمٍ وَمِن ظُلَمِ
O you who, through your vices and your visage, combine
O gatherer of twilight and its ascent
The two blacknesses of injustice and darkness.
Between the two darknesses, of gloom and of gloominess
أَمِثلُهُis his like? جَسَداًin body فيwithin مِثلِهِhis like حَسَداًin envy
أَمِثلُهُ جَسَداً في مِثلِهِ حَسَداً
لَقَدindeed تَأَلَّفَcame together بَينَbetween النارِthe fire وَالفَحمِand the coal
لَقَد تَأَلَّفَ بَينَ النارِ وَالفَحمِ
Is his like in body found within his like in envy?
Is he jealous of it - a body in its likeness, jealous
Fire and coal have indeed come together.
Indeed it has harmonized between fire and embers
