May rain bless her, from the broad plains of delight,
May rain bless those plains of delight,
and beauty’s leafy groves overlooking her.
and the groves of beauty overlooking them.
فَماso … not تَرىyou see غَيرَother than وَجهِthe face of شَمسٍa sun
أَظَلَّcasts shade فيهِin it عِذارُa sidelock ظِلof shadow
There you see nothing but the face of a sun,
So you see nothing but a sun’s face,
upon which a shadow’s side-lock has cast shade.
where a sidelock of shadow casts shade.
