    If their armspans reached what

their hopes aspire to, your finger-span would still be longer.

they could not reach beyond your ankle.

and your gracious pardon precedes any plea of excuse.

forgiving it out of bounty and giving magnanimously,

had used his own wrongdoing to seek your favor.

until we thought them reproachers of generosity.

with their arrows, they return to seek another mortal spot.

even when seen, direct sight is thought a fantasy.

and brilliant stars, were they capable of setting.

brought the distant near and clarified the obscure,

May plantings of it never cease to yield their harvest

in your presence, nor its brides cease to be unveiled.
