Do not fear the hostility of one whose honor you have made fair game;
Do not fear the enmity of those whose secrets you have exposed
the grudges of one dead at heart do not survive.
He whose heart has died, his branches do not live

Leave him as a target for the calamities of time.
Leave him for the vicissitudes of time as prey
Do you think it will honor one whose abasement you desire?
Do you expect him to honor one whose love is his disgrace?

And if you desire the ruin of a kingdom that has rebelled
And if you wanted to destroy an arrogant kingdom
in folly, your dispatch of a banner heralds that ruin.
Your standard's inscription would be ignorance if you sent it as a van

Indeed, whoever loved his life has obeyed you
So those who loved life obeyed you
there, while a traitor's rebellion drove him to persist.
And the traitor immersed in tyranny joined you

Let the Romans seek safety, for the sharpness
to them a keen sword's harshness and gentleness.
Of a cutting sword and its wielder has appeared to them

Sleep has forsaken their eyelids since they roused
Sleep has abandoned their eyelids since they were awakened
one whose eyelids will not close upon a mote.
By one whose eyelids do not sleep on gravel

وَالجَيشُ يَفتَرِسُ العِدى فُرسانُهُ
Such is resolve: Time's heart is terrified by it,
With resolve that shakes the universe and terrifies it
and the army's horsemen devour the foes.
And an army that hunts the enemy, its horsemen

فَأَمَرَّ عَيشَ عُداتِهِ مُرّانُهُ
His swords have guaranteed his opponents' destruction,
His swords guaranteed the throats of his opponents
so his ashwood spears have made his enemies' lives bitter.
So he settled the life of his followers and trained them

And kings indeed rose high in honor; divided
And kings aspired to the nobility he attained
among them in former times were his lands.
Since he conquered the lands that were divided between them long ago

They boasted of it and he put it above himself
since acquiring them, for their governors are his young servants.
Since his youths achieved it

And so these armies are led and ruled
by Banjutakin, their emir, and his Tughan.
By Bonjuktin their prince and tyrant

So that kindness flows from their kindness

the clouds have gone, and his fingers have taken their place.
The clouds are absent, yet it comes from their peaks

Distinction is won by the one whose merit comes first,
He who excels possesses intelligence, not
not by the one whose era and age come first.
He whose time and era preceded

Is there one who can compete when his arrow is lofty
even if his age comes after the prophets?
If his time is after the prophets?

So let the rulers of the lands know that he
is a celestial sphere whose turning entails their dispossession.
Is a celestial orbit that will seize them in its rotation

And when his Sudan defended them, it was his Sudan

O you who suffice Islam without a partner
from upheavals whose horror turns its children gray!
Liberating it from tribulations that turn children gray

Your qualities suffice, without witnesses testifying
thanks to glory whose proof, by your life, is clear.
Your glory, sir, is obvious proof

Wealth remains with no possessor
But property does not remain with an owner
unless the children of hope are its treasurers.
Except for the children of Muna as its treasurers

All others say "Where is my place?"

Its people would have been incapable of accomplishing

In days when accessing it pained them

So your victory from God is hastened
and His good pleasure awaits you later with Him.
And His approval is deferred for you

Among people for as long as shepherds roam

During the Hajj season, and its corners are kissed

So God answered there the prayer of a companion
whose Qur'an recitation there follows his combined pilgrimage.
Reciting the Quran beside it, his recitation being the Quran

When poetry is an inclination of my thoughts

Gave generously with its prisoner's bounty and help has done for me?

Forever, for the authority of truth is its authority
