قالت وللخمرِ في كاساتها طربٌ

قالت وللخمرِ في كاساتها طربٌ

وللمزاج على حافاتها حبب

She said, while the wine in its cups was merry,

and the blend had bubbles along their rims:

And on its edges was delightful bubbles

أحسن بدر حبابٍ فوق تبرطلا

How lovely the pearls of bubbles above the gold of wine!

The full moon was prettier than white brocade

And marvel at the pearl of glass with gold above it!

And the pure pearl was more wondrous than gold
