وبدل الميم باء غير منتحل
Look at the rain—what its palm has given you!
Behold the rain, what respite it brought you
And replace the mīm with a bāʾ, without claiming to be
With mim replaced by ba, not feigned at all

Ḥānim [possibly Hātim]; he indeed sought to outdo others, but you confounded him.
So gentle, it tried for miracles and brought you tears
And he remained outmatched in speech and deed [probable reading of the unclear text].
Yet still for you a miracle in word and deed

He saw you as a sea, then raised it to a mountain.
It saw you a sea and parted you onto a mountain
And who before that ever saw a sea upon a mountain?
And who before has seen a sea atop a mountain
