ألاLo! إنَّindeed بالبطحاءِin al-Baṭḥāʾ ياO أمَّmother of مالكٍMālik
ألا إنَّ بالبطحاءِ يا أمَّ مالكٍ
نواهدَmaidens with budding breasts يسلبنَthey rob الحليمَthe forbearing man التجلُّداcomposure
نواهدَ يسلبنَ الحليمَ التجلُّدا
Lo, indeed in al-Baṭḥāʾ, O Umm Mālik,
O mother of Malik, indeed in the open land
are maidens with budding breasts who rob the forbearing man of his composure.
