وأهيفَ ساجي الطرف بادٍ سناؤه

وأهيفَ ساجي الطرف بادٍ سناؤه

كغصن النقا كالظبي كالقمر التمّ

And a slender youth, languid-eyed, his radiance manifest,

The gentle breeze sways his slender form

Like a bough on the sand dune, like a gazelle, like the full moon.

Like a sapling, a deer, the perfect moon

بدا حاملاً مرآتهُ وسلافهُ

فقابلني بالشمسِ والبدرِ والنجمِ

He appeared, carrying his mirror and his choice wine,

He appeared carrying his mirror and sword

So he met me with the sun, the full moon, and the star.

And greeted me with the sun, moon and stars
