فعلى شفا قلبي وأنت الشفاء
Be gentle with your servant, and give your pledge its due.

For my heart's peace depends on you, and you alone can heal
ماnot ظلremained طالبa seeker of سلوةsolace وفؤادهand his heart
ما ظل طالب سلوة وفؤاده
ماnot ضلstrayed عنهfrom it الوجدpassion والبرحاءand anguish
ما ضل عنه الوجد والبرحاء
He has not remained a seeker of solace, and his heart
No seeker of solace remains uncured while seeking you
has never been left by passion and anguish.
No ardent lover stays lost who on your door does kneel
تزجيdrives along سحابclouds شؤونهhis tear ducts وأشواقهand his longings
تزجي سحاب شؤونه وأشواقه
فالخدso the cheek أرضearth والجفونand the eyelids سماءsky
فالخد أرض والجفون سماء
They drive the clouds of his tears and his longings;
Send clouds to shower his hopes and longings, do
so the cheek is earth, and the eyelids are sky.
His cheeks are earth, his eyelids sky - let rain reveal
ومتىand whenever تنفسhe sighed أوor تماديwent on باكياًweeping
ومتى تنفس أو تمادي باكياً
فالجوso the air نارfire والبسيطةand the earth ماءwater
فالجو نار والبسيطة ماء
And whenever he sighs or goes on weeping,
And when he breathes a sigh or weeps continuously
the air is fire, and the earth is water.
The air's aflame, the ground a sea, such pain to feel
