O master of viziers, how pur-

-e and noble is your gracious fidelity!

Indeed, the stars, in their majes-

    -ty, stand below your stature.

Their eyes are meek before you

when they came forth as guardians of your glory.

You now stand, O king of eloquence,

with the stars among your troops.

And your bounty rained down, so that

the clouds brought forth from it the blossoms of your praise.

And they unveiled thought's daughters in your honor,

escorted as brides by the sons of the quest for you.

    Like doves, calling out

in praise, wearing the neck-rings of your bounty.

And indeed, time has taken possession of me

because of my desolation while far from you.

And may it pass as long as praise endures for

your eminence, peerless as you are.

And may it humble your foes, and not outlast

a span matching the lifetime of your promise.
