ياO جورinjustice هذاthis الدهرage منwhat a ظالمtyrant
يا جور هذا الدهر من ظالم
لاnot يعرفknows الانصافَfairness فيin الحكمِjudgment
لا يعرف الانصافَ في الحكمِ
Oh, the injustice of this age—what a tyrant,
O injustice of this age, so oppressive
Knowing no fairness in judgment!
Knowing not fairness when judging men
فماfor it did not اكتفىcontent itself بالظلمwith injustice حتىuntil بداappeared
فما اكتفى بالظلم حتى بدا
يُلزمناcompels us الشكرَthanks علىfor الظلمinjustice
يُلزمنا الشكرَ على الظلم
For it was not content with injustice, but even came
Nor content with just tyranny itself
To compel us to give thanks for injustice.
It demands we give thanks for our plight
