Do I have, each day, a companion from time—

Every day brings me a new companion,

a new one—and a camel-driver urging me toward a town?

And I journey to a new land.

اروح واغدو للغنى غير مدرك

ويدركه من لا يروح ولا يغدو

I go out at evening and at dawn seeking wealth, without attaining it,

I come and go seeking fortune,

yet one who goes out neither at evening nor at dawn attains it.

While it finds those who neither come nor go.
