O Harith, no people have set out in the afternoon or departed early,
Without a camel-driver for death following in their tracks.

Without lifespans drawing nearer to their appointed end.
هَلare? نَحنُwe إِلّاanything but كَأَرواحٍlike souls تَمُرُّyou pass بِهاby them
هَل نَحنُ إِلّا كَأَرواحٍ تَمُرُّ بِها
تَحتَbeneath التُرابِthe earth وَأَجسادٍand bodies كَأَجسادِlike bodies
تَحتَ التُرابِ وَأَجسادٍ كَأَجسادِ
Are we anything but like souls you pass by,
Beneath the earth, and bodies like other bodies?
