a cup of wine delights one intoxicated.
A tipsy man delights in a cup of wine.
As drinking companions are delighted by a cup of wine
خلa close friend كريمnoble فيin النوىseparation عهدهhis pledge
خل كريم في النوى عهده
وماand not كرامhonorable ones العهدthe pledge الاexcept الكرامthe noble
وما كرام العهد الا الكرام
In separation, his pledge is a noble companion;
A friend whose pledge remains noble through separation,
The pact of a generous man is like cream in the soul
and none are faithful to a pledge but the noble.
And only the noble are faithful to their pledges.
And no pact is kept save by the noble
اهديI offer إليهto him منfrom صميمthe depths of الحشىthe heart
اهدي إليه من صميم الحشى
سلامa greeting مشتاقone who yearns بدارin the abode of السلامpeace
سلام مشتاق بدار السلام
I send to him, from the very heart,
