فصادني ومن الأصداغ اشراك

O young gazelle, who spread a snare from his temple-locks,

O you who are addicted to companions, partners,

And caught me—among temple-locks are snares.

Who have distanced me, yet I am a partner in companionship,

أن كنت تأنف عزاً عن مجالستي

أن كنت تأنف عزاً عن مجالستي

فالورد تألفه في الروض اشواك

فالورد تألفه في الروض اشواك

If, out of pride, you disdain sitting with me,

If you disdain my company out of pride,

For thorns keep company with the rose in the garden.

Then roses befriend thorns in the garden.
