And look into a mirror of thought;

in it are the outlines of consequences.

واعمل لنفسك واجهد

جهد الصبور المواضب

And work for yourself, and strive

with the effort of the patient, persevering one.

ثمارها بالمتاعب

For the soul's repose is won,

its fruits reaped through hardships.

You willingly cast your reins

into the hands of those who pull them,

وتشرب الماء رنقاً

والماء عذب المشارب

and drink murky water,

though the water is sweet to drink.

وكيف تنعم عيناً

ما بين عين وحاجب

And how can your eye be at ease

in the space between an eye and a brow?

وهل يناسب وجه

الحبيب عين المراقب

الحبيب عين المراقب

And does the face

of the beloved suit the watcher's eye?

ارادة الشعب اقوى

عزا وامنع جانب

The people's will is stronger

in might, and its flank more impregnable.

فما يفل شباها

ولا تكل المضارب

ولا تكل المضارب

So nothing blunts its sharp edges,

nor do its striking edges grow dull.

Never have the people been challenged

without the people emerging victorious.

as though it had not been founded

on the principles of experience.

Today a form appears

ill-suited to yesterday,

and it scarcely lingers before

tomorrow comes with wonders.

they have burdened it with hardships.

Awareness grows and rises,

so none can overcome it.

that harbors reconciliation for a reproacher.

the aspirations it has raised.
