أيها سيوف العرب لا تضربي
غيرexcept طلىnecks أعدائكyour enemies الطامعهcovetous
غير طلى أعدائك الطامعه
O swords of the Arabs, do not strike
O swords of the Arabs, strike naught
Except the necks of your covetous foes.
But the covetous enemies' blades.
واسترجعيand reclaim سالفbygone عهدage العلىglory
واسترجعي سالف عهد العلى
لعلperhaps أيامdays العلىglory راجعهreturning
لعل أيام العلى راجعه
And reclaim the bygone age of glory;
Regain the past glory days,
Perhaps the days of glory will return.
May the sublime days yet return.
ياO اسرةfamily المجدglory التيwhich لمnot تزلcease
يا اسرة المجد التي لم تزل
ذائدةdefending عنon behalf of مجدهاits glory رادعهrepelling
ذائدة عن مجدها رادعه
O house of glory, which has never ceased
O bastion of glory never failed
To defend its glory and repel foes.
To check its glory restrained.

حيث نجوم الأفق الطالعه
The caliphate of Islam is built
Caliphate of Islam is based
Where the horizon's stars rise.
Where rising stars of horizon ranged.
دولةstate احسانbenevolence وعدلand justice غدتbecame
دولة احسان وعدل غدت
فيin ظلهاits shade آمالناour hopes وادعهtranquil
في ظلها آمالنا وادعه
A state of benevolence and justice—
State of kindness and justice was under
In its shade, our hopes have grown tranquil.
Its shade our hopes and calm anchored.
المdid ... not? نكنwe were للظلمbecause of oppression فيin ظلمةdarkness
الم نكن للظلم في ظلمة
المdid ... not? تكنwere اسيافهاits swords الصادعهthe cleaving ones
الم تكن اسيافها الصادعه
Were we not in darkness because of oppression?
Were we not in the injustice darkness?
Were not its swords the ones that cleft it?
