When the soul’s cares advance, one after another,

If the soul’s sorrows advance one after another

against you—and the unbearable comes to pass—

upon you, and what cannot be borne comes to pass,

فحاربها بكاذبة الأماني

فحاربها بكاذبة الأماني

فإن الحرب عندهم خداع

فإن الحرب عندهم خداع

then fight them with the lying promises of hope,

then fight them with false hopes,

for with them, war is deception.

for war, in their view, is deception.
