Ah, who will aid a heart whose burning thirst is never quenched,
O one whose heart bears not its sorrows,
And an eye whose tears never dry?
Whose eyes shed not their tears,

My two friends, will you not comfort one enslaved by love,
My friends, will you not make happy
Who sees each day, in separation, what terrifies him?
One who sees in his purpose every day that which terrifies him,

My loved ones' home has grown distant, and far is the journey to it;
I came to the house of my loved ones and the place of their burial,
So the wounded eyelid has lost its slumber.
So the eyelids poured down their flowing tears,
وحاولتand I sought صبراًpatience كانwas فيin الخطبcalamity جنتيmy shield
فقالتso said ليto me الأيامthe days لاnot تستطيعهyou can manage it
And I sought patience, which had been my shield in calamity;
And I tried patience though it was my armour in calamities,
But the days said to me, 'You cannot muster it.'
But the days said to me you cannot endure it,

So can the life we once lived at Ṭuwayliʿ
So is it possible that our life that has passed in its length
Be brought back, despite the nights?
Despite the nights can be returned?
