عذرك عندي بك مَبْسوطُ
والذنبand the blame عنfrom مثلكone like you محطوطlifted
والذنب عن مثلك محطوط
Your excuse has ample scope with me, because it is yours;
Because it is you, I find your excuse ample;
and blame is lifted from one such as you.
and blame is lifted from the likes of you.
ليسis not بمسخوطcondemned فعالdeeds امرىءa man
ليس بمسخوط فعال امرىء
كلall الذيthat which يأتيهhe does it مسخوطcondemned
كل الذي يأتيه مسخوط
No deed of a man is singled out for censure—
Not condemned are the deeds of a man
when everything he does is censured.
