أبوك أمير قرية نهر تِيْرَى
ولستَand you are not علىover نسائكyour women بالأميرِa ruler
ولستَ على نسائك بالأميرِ
Your father is governor of the village of Nahr Tīrā,
My father is the prince of the Tigris River village
yet you are no ruler over your women.
And you are not a prince over your women
وأرزاقand shares of sustenance العبادthe people مُقَدَّراتallotted
وأرزاق العباد مُقَدَّرات
لهمfor them وعليكand incumbent upon you أرزاقprovisions for الأيورِthe penises
لهم وعليك أرزاق الأيورِ
And people's shares of sustenance are allotted
The provisions of servants are predestined
to them; you must provide sustenance for cocks.
For them and for you are the provisions of the generous
فكمfor how many فيin رزقthe provision of ربكyour Lord منof فقيرa poor man
فكم في رزق ربك من فقير
وماand there is not فيamong أهلthe recipients of رزقكyour provision منany فقيرِpoor man
وما في أهل رزقك من فقيرِ
For how many poor men live on your Lord's provision,
So how many poor are in your Lord's provisions
yet not one of those you provide for is poor.
And none among the people of your provisions are poor
