أبو إسحق صاحبه معنَّى
يروحgoes in the evening ويغتديand goes in the morning فيin غيرother than مَعْنَىpurpose
يروح ويغتدي في غير مَعْنَى
Abu Ishaq—his companion is tormented.
Abu Ishaq's friend is all meaning
He goes out evening and morning to no purpose.
He goes and comes back with no purpose
وينظرand he considers فيin القضاءadjudication بغيرwithout علمknowledge
وينظر في القضاء بغير علم
وأجهلand most ignorant ماever يكونhe is إذاwhen تأنَّىhe deliberates
وأجهل ما يكون إذا تأنَّى
And he adjudicates without knowledge,
And he looks into fate with no knowledge
And he is at his most ignorant when he deliberates.
And is most ignorant when he deliberates
