رجلاً يظنُّك عالماً وأمينا
Tell your tale when one casts down with his eye
Speak your speech when a man of insight

تدعى لوجد مذلقاً مسنونا
So you split it open as a camel calf is split open with a pickaxe.
Yet you split it like an ignoramus would
You are called to anguish, keen-pointed and sharpened.
With the mallet of empty chatter

Indeed, the accursed one is your father, so shoot at his bones.
Curse the bones of your damned father
If you shoot, you shoot at a deranged madman.
If you pelt a madman with stones

He reaches evening empty-bellied from deeds of piety,
He who toils in piety retires with an empty belly
And spends the day pot-bellied from deeds of evil.
While the corrupt man grows fat
