My night has grown long with cares; some of them
My night grew long with concerns, some old
Are old, and among them is a new one welling up.
And some new, spilling over
تحنُّyearn إلىtoward عِرقridge الحُجونal-Ḥajūn وأهلُهاand its people
تحنُّ إلى عِرق الحُجون وأهلُها
منازلهمtheir dwellings مناaway from us سلَيلSulayl وأبطحand Abṭaḥ
منازلهم منا سلَيل وأبطح
They yearn for the ridge of al-Ḥajūn, while its people—
I yearn for my family's dwellings
Their dwellings, away from us, are Sulayl and Abṭaḥ.
Our homes once joined, now far and gone
