يا هندُ يا أختَ النجاشي أسلمي
هلdo تذكرينَyou remember ليلَةًa night بإضَمat Iḍam
هل تذكرينَ ليلَةً بإضَم
O Hind, O sister of al-Najashi, be well!
Do you remember a night at Iḍam,
وليلةًand a night أخرىanother بجوِّin the open expanse of الحرَمthe Sanctuary
وليلةً أخرى بجوِّ الحرَم
والشامةَand the beauty mark السوداءَblack بالمُخدِّمat the anklet’s place
والشامةَ السوداءَ بالمُخدِّم
And another night in the Sanctuary’s open expanse,
And the black beauty mark where the anklet rests,
والخالَand the mole بالكشحon the waist اللطيفdelicate الأهضمslender
والخالَ بالكشح اللطيف الأهضم
And the mole on the delicate, slender waist?
