I have come, accompanied by my village,

ʿArāʾ, walking proudly in her blossoms.

Before me are the Hijaz and its lights,

    And its radiant, exemplary history,

And Najd's desert and its oases,

And the rain of lofty pride pouring down.

I have come to you: my letters are my caravan,

And my poetry is my horse that neighs.

A dweller depart for his own home?

Of victory, recounted and never overlooked.

All falsehoods are held in contempt.

By your Lord, O Egypt, were it not for sorrow

For my nation, with its fire set alight,

And were it not for the mountains of cares that

Still grow heavier upon my beating heart,

    A single path unites us,

Brought to us by the Chosen One, the Messenger.
