وماand not قَصَدَتكsought you out الطيرthe birds منfrom كبدthe heart of السماthe sky
وما قَصَدَتك الطير من كبد السما
خماصاًempty-bellied ولاand not جهلاًin ignorance بماof what أنتyou قاصِدُهintending it
خماصاً ولا جهلاً بما أنت قاصِدُه
The birds did not seek you out from the heart of heaven
And the birds did not seek you out from the heart of the sky
The birds did not aim for you from the liver of the sky,
hollow-bellied, nor unaware of what you sought.
with empty bellies, nor in ignorance of what you intend;
Neither eager nor ignorant of what you intend.
