ياO صاحبpossessor of الرأيjudgment السديدsound السرمديeverlasting
يا صاحب الرأي السديد السرمدي
O Muhammad of praiseworthy deeds, O possessor of eminence,
O possessor of sound, everlasting judgment,
باهتgloried بكin you الرتبthe ranks العليةexalted فانثنتand then turned
باهت بك الرتب العلية فانثنت
ترويrecounting خصالكyour virtues فيin صحيحٍan authentic report مُسندِsupported by a chain of transmission
تروي خصالك في صحيحٍ مُسندِ
The exalted ranks gloried in you, then turned
to recount your virtues in an authentic report with a chain of transmission:
عنon the authority of جودgenerosity حاتمHatim عنon the authority of شجاعةcourage عنترAntar
عن جود حاتم عن شجاعة عنتر
عنon the authority of حِلمforbearance أحنفAhnaf عنon the authority of عدالةjustice أحمدAhmad
عن حِلم أحنف عن عدالة أحمد
on the authority of Hatim’s generosity, on the authority of Antar’s courage,
on the authority of Ahnaf’s forbearance, on the authority of Ahmad’s justice.
