فقد سدت بالأفراح كم جيل كمل

فقد سدت بالأفراح كم جيل كمل

Above the generation, rejoice in noble deeds and walk in splendor.

Rejoice in this generation with generosity and grace

For amid rejoicing you have led many a generation that attained perfection.

For joy has obscured many a mature generation

ودانت لك الأيام وقتاً وإنها

ودانت لك الأيام وقتاً وإنها

العرس طهور الحُرّ في طارب جلي

العرس طهور الحُرّ في طارب جلي

And the days bowed to you awhile; indeed, they are

And days have submitted to you for a time, yet they

The celebration—the freeborn man's circumcision, amid manifest rejoicing.

Are a wedding, the purity of the noble in pleasing company

فبشرى بعرس آن باليمن كله

فبشرى بعرس آن باليمن كله

وكم حث بالأفراح في كل منزل

وكم حث بالأفراح في كل منزل

So glad tidings of a celebration that has arrived with every blessing!

Good tidings of a wedding have come in all of Yemen

And how much encouragement, with rejoicing, in every home!

And how it urges joy in every house

وبالبشر طير السعد كم عاد صادحاً

وبالبشر طير السعد كم عاد صادحاً

لكم كبُّ أنس في طهور الفتى علي

لكم كبُّ أنس في طهور الفتى علي

And with gladness, how often the bird of good fortune returned singing!

And with good news the bird of happiness returns screaming

For you, an outpouring of delight at young Ali's circumcision.

What great warmth for you in the purity of the young man Ali

سما محتداً فوق العبور مكانه

سما محتداً فوق العبور مكانه

ونافس الإقران بالعنصر العلي

ونافس الإقران بالعنصر العلي

In noble lineage, his station rose above Sirius.

Rising united above the crossroads

And he rivaled his peers through his lofty ancestry.

And competing with peers in the sublime element of Ali

فمن ماثلُ والأحمديّون سريه

فمن ماثلُ والأحمديّون سريه

وزان عليٌّ خيرَ كلِّ مكمَّلِ

وزان عليٌّ خيرَ كلِّ مكمَّلِ

Who, then, is his equal, with the Ahmadis as his noble company?

So whoever is present, and the Ahmedia are his intimates

And Ali adorned the finest of all perfected men.

And Ali outweighs the best of the accomplished

عساك ترى من نسله كُنهَ باسل

عساك ترى من نسله كُنهَ باسل

كريم ممير كامل مُتَجَمِّلِ

كريم ممير كامل مُتَجَمِّلِ

May you see among his offspring the essence of a valiant man,

May you see from his progeny the essence of the valiant

Generous, a provider, accomplished, and finely adorned.

A generous, excellent, perfect, graceful noble

وأرخ لحب العز والعزُّ طيّب

وأرخ لحب العز والعزُّ طيّب

لفي كل شطر ما يسرُّك فاجمل

لفي كل شطر ما يسرُّك فاجمل

And record the date for love of glory—and glory is sweet.

And chronicle the love of honor, and honor is sweet

Surely in every half-line is what delights you; so sum it up.

For in every direction what pleases you, so make it beautiful
